The marking is made on the crystal, at the bottom part of the cava bottle, and consists on 1 line composed of one consecutive internal numerical code of 12 digits
There is no best before date, because it is considered that “cava” does not have it
This is the case story about the selling and installation of a Dynamark
30W laser and 1 laser Flymark 30, this is a large project and now has
been extended with the sale of another marking and coding laser Flymark
30w and one labelling machine, at the Juvé & Camps factory plant in
Sant Sadurní d’Anoia. This is a very prestigious firm that produces and bottles up cavas and
good-quality wines; it exports the products all arround the world. Antecedents: Exporting cavas and wines around the world gives high benefits to Juvé
& Camps, but at the same time it implied the following issue: they
needed to codify the different bottles to have a total control of the
traceability in each of the countries where they export and also to
know if any of their distributors sold the bottles outside their
market, that means, in other countries. For this reason, they requested
a marking in each of the bottles, that, through an internal code of the
firm could verify the country to which the bottles were assigned to,
and also other kind of information (batch, manufacturing date, etc…) They normally used ink-jet systems (Domino) to mark not only the codes
at the bottle plates that are stored at the wine cellar, but also the
bottles that are menat for export, but they found that the ink was
easily removed from the glass. For this reason, they decided to use the
laser marking and coding technology to mark the internal control code
in the different cava bottles for a permanent mark. Macsa’s proposal: Analysing the problem, we brought the following solution thanks to our MACSA laser marking and coding systems and software. Juvé y Camps has two different bottling lines. In each we installed a
laser (1 Dynamark 30W and one Flymark 30W). At the end, these two
bottling lines joined together and they flow to a pallet machine, and
then, to a baling machine. In this baling machine we mounted a
labelling machine connected to a PC, that, at the same, it transferred
with both lasers and received all the information of the numerical
codes that the lasers were marking. In this way, every time we need to
generate a label in the pallet, apart from all the necessary
information that needs to be contained, it is printed a bar code in
which there is the first number of the bottle that it is on the pallet
, and also the last one (information received from the marked code of
the lasers); with this information, when Juve y Camps generates an
order, it is collected in the warehouse the pallet that belongs to,
they read the code that contains the information of the bottle numbers
and it is transmitted to the RP. So, they know through the serial
numbers to which customer it is sent to and they can track exhaustively
one bottle at any time and country where it is. Application: The marking is made on the crystal, at the bottom part of the cava
bottle, and consists on 1 line composed of one consecutive internal
numerical code of 12 digits. In this, we can find codified the
following information: internal batch, season, bottling date, end-user
customer, etc. There is no best before date, because it is considered
that “cava” does not have it. With the Dynamark 30w laser they mark between 2500 and 2800 bottles per
hour, while in the production line where the Flymark 30w is installed
they reach production line speeds up to 6500 bottles per hour. Conclusion: Thanks to our confidence in our sales net, Juvé & Camps decided to
trust our project and chose the laser marking and coding technology to
provide the traceability to their star products.
